Family Adventure Activity holidays in Scotland:
Seven Nights - Six days Multi Activity Holiday
Its brimming with Adventure!
Based in the Heart of Scotland in Aberfeldy, Scotlands First FairTrade Village. Aberfeldy was voted best place to live in the UK and you can see why with the wealth of beautiful activity venues coupled with a plethora of other activities to keep you talking about your time with us for years to come.

What activities are on offer?
For the Family who want to partake in structured activities but still retaining the freedom to pick and choose other components of their holiday. Other local options include: Sailing, Horse riding, Historic sites of interest, Whisky distilleries to name but a few.
You can create your own six / seven day tailored itinerary from the list below:
A day of Abseiling and Climbing
A day of placid or moving water Kayaking
A two day journey of placid or moving water Canoeing including camping on a deserted Island!
A day of Hill Walking
A day of unsupervised Cycling* along the river Tay (pick up and drop off included),
A half day of Gorge walking (Canyoning)
A half day White Water Rafting.
You can pick and choose your activities from the list of activities to tailor your holiday to your exact requirements.

Where will i be staying?
All accommodation is provided through our friends Mark and Claire Dimmock at Balnearn House offering fine three star Bed and Breakfast facilities in their beautiful Victorian house. Balnearn House is situated on the outskirts of Aberfeldy in easy walking reach of the centre but equally as close to the famous Birks or Aberfeldy waterfalls.

What is the Itinerary?
Day One to Six: Meeting your Guide after your full highland breakfast (other options are available) to kick start your chosen Itinerary from the list above. You will be issued with today's technical equipment, and commence your fun filled day. Your chosen activity will last till approximately 16:30 where you will be transported back to your accommodation. A packed Lunch is provided.

A day of Abseiling and Climbing:
Travelling to your Climbing venue (differing venue for differing weather conditions) were upon your guide will issue your technical equipment. You will be shown how to tie into the rope, Climb safely and with style and how to support and tighten a climbers rope (Family trust can be tested!) Followed by an Abseil down the rock face to finish off the day.

A day of placid or moving water Kayaking:
Travelling to your chosen destination be it the Loch or River. Your guide will issue you with today's technical equipment. You will be shown how to paddle safely forwards, reversing and turning, controlling your canoe in you chosen direction as you paddle on your journey.
If on the Loch: taking in a journey around a section of the loch stopping off at the replica Crannog at Kenmore and over to a derelict dwelling on Priory Island.
If on the River: After a coaching session your guide will join you on a paddle through the rapids and gently moving waters between Kenmore and Aberfeldy.

Two day Canoe journey :
Canoeing down a section of Loch Tay taking in some sights, sounds and games whilst learning to paddle your Canoe effectively and efficiently. Spending the night under canvas camping around a fire pit on a deserted Island. The following day we shall leave the island and loch behind as we paddle down the river Tay passing over and through the rapids and moving waters all the way to Aberfeldy some 5 miles downstream.

A day of Hill Walking:
Will be tailored to the requirements of your family, options range from a gentle stroll to taking in one of the regions many Munro's.

A day of Cycling along the river Tay:
Your Guide will drop you off at Kenmore with your own bikes, provide you with your map and lunch before leaving you to have a family day cycling alongside the River Tay, on a cycle track weaving its way downstream to Grandtully some 10 miles away, where your guide will meet you and drive you back to your accommodation.

Two half days of Gorge Walking (Canyoning) and White Water Rafting:
Travelling to a suitable gorge for your families requirements we Jump, Slide, Crawl and Climb our way up and down a gorge immersing ourselves fully in the experience both emotionally and physically! This half day session is complemented by a half day White Water Rafting trip down the Upper River Tay, Playing games, riding through the grade two rapids and finishing off crashing through the grade three rapids at Grandtully.

Who will be our Guide?
Your Guide will be one of Source Adventures Staff who are all listed here.
All our staff are highly qualified in all the adventure sports we provide. They have all worked for Primary and Secondary School Outdoor providers and we even boast a few ex teachers in our staff portfolio. So your guide will have a firm understanding of working with your full family be it your children or the big kids who come with them!
Our guides will tailor your holiday to your aims and wants for the six days, we are aware that every family is unique and we encourage you to help us design the program and how we go about instigating this.
Source Adventure is an Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) (HSE license to work with under 18's in loco perentis) certificated provider.

Can we bring our extended Family?
A minimum of two adults and one child per mini break or holiday with the option of up to six people on one course from your immediate or connected family. We recommend children no younger than Nine and over Fourteen's will be considered as an adult.
