In January 1999 mountaineers Jamie Andrew was trapped for five nights on the storm bound icy summit of a French mountain. His rescue, which was one of the most dramatic in the history of the Alps. Jamie, despite suffering hypothermia and appalling frostbite, survived. Days later all four of his hands and feet were amputated.
But that was just the beginning of the story. Since the accident Jamie has regained and taken up many sporting activities including the London Marathon in 2002, Climbing Kilimanjaro in 2004, Sailing across the North Sea in 2007 and completing his own titanium man challenge swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles and running 26.2 miles.
Jamie works with Source Adventure delivering Personal and Corporate development programmes often twinned with an unforgettable lecture.

Olly has been am associate of Source for two years and has a return client rate of over 90%! Olly manages this through providing excellent coaching and guiding in a relaxed, informal, enjoyable manner. Olly has an amazing knowledge of all things relating to the water and hence works with us in a Kayak, Raft and Canyon. Olly is a Level 4 Kayaker and Level 3 Raft Guide.
From early childhood Dave showed an interest in the great outdoors and soon a career was being carved or fallen upon. Within his career he has worked for Charties, Public and the Private sector. He is motivated by educating and coaching people about and through the outdoors, historically working at High Schools and lecturing Outdoor Education to undergraduate students. He Holds a Bsc in Outdoor Studies and Geography and is an Aspirant Level 5 Kayak, Aspirant Level 5 Canoeist, Single Pitch Climber and Summer Mountain Leader.
In 2005 Dave Joined the Board of the Scottish Canoe Association and in 2006 became the Vice President of the Association for a two year post.
He has a keen passion for travel with his Kayak or Canoe and has been fortunate enough to paddle throughout Europe, Asia, Australasia and North America. Hence when not working full time with Source Dave can be found Kayaking or Canoeing in a corner of the globe.
Anna ia a canoe specialist famous for her cover image on "Eddy Palmers 25 Canoe Classics!" One of the finest canoeists in Scotland, who is also an extremely thoughtful and inspirational coach. Anna's wealth of Knowledge regarding the canoe, environment and routes is second to none, if Anna hasn't canoed it, its probably not worth doing! Anna is an Aspirant Level 5 canoe coach.
Carol is a level 3 Sea Kayak coach who is more than happy to share her love of the sea. Her wealth of knowledge on the sea, the animals living on its coasts and in its depths along with the stories and shanties that tell of its past will ensure your experience is like no other. A wee person with a big personality, her passion for the outdoors whether it be in the sea, on the mountain or by the crag; is highly contagious. Exciting adventures, good laughs and memorable experiences are guaranteed!
